Drum Journey with Tanya
About this event
The drum has been used for thousands of years as a tool for healing, ceremony and inner journey. In a Native American drum journey, the sustained, rhythmic beat of the drum creates an altered state of awareness — a gentle shift in consciousness that allows you to move beyond everyday thought and reconnect with a deeper part of yourself.
This is not a performance or a concert. It is a guided, experiential practice — a space to slow down, drop inward and receive what your body, mind and spirit need.
Tanya will hold the space as you lie back, close your eyes and allow the drum to carry you. No experience is needed. All that is required is a willingness to be present and open.

Do I need any experience with drumming or meditation?
No experience is needed. Tanya will guide you through the full process. All you need to bring is an open mind and willingness to be present.
What is a drum journey?
A drum journey is a guided, sound-based practice rooted in shamanic traditions. The consistent, rhythmic beat of a drum shifts your brainwave state, allowing you to enter a deeply relaxed, inward-focused awareness. In this state, many people experience vivid imagery, emotional release or a sense of deep calm and clarity.
Is this spiritual or religious?
The drum journey draws from indigenous healing traditions and is held in a spirit of respect and reverence. It is not affiliated with any specific religion. You are welcome to engage with whatever feels meaningful or relevant to you.
What should I bring?
Bring a yoga mat or something comfortable to lie on, a blanket or light layer, an eye mask if you have one, and a water bottle. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Can I come on my own?
Yes, absolutely. Many people attend events like this on their own. The space is welcoming, supportive and designed to help you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.
Is this suitable if I am experiencing anxiety or stress?
This event can be deeply supportive for people experiencing stress or anxiety. That said, it is not a substitute for medical or psychological care. If you are experiencing significant distress, please also seek support from a qualified health professional.
